Part of a Lab Reports

Tittle: It has to describe what you have done. Your title must have in the keyword of your experiment’s process, so it will be long.

Abstract:  It should summarize your work, in other word an abstract contains what you did or study, how you did it, and the most important conclusions in few sentences.

Introduction: in the introduction, you have to explain all the background information behind your experiment using previous researches that support your study. An introduction must describe the hypothesis of your study and provide details about why your study is critical and contributes new information to the field. An introduction needs to set up the study.

Material and Method: Describe with enough details the procedure that was used to achieve your experiment, and show all the important steps you follow to do the experiment. Provide a list of all the material and equipment with their correct names.

Result: This section should summarize the important data obtain on the whole experiment.

Discussion: It is the section when you have to analyzed and clarify your results. I must include Data, magnitude of values and an explanation of significant finding in your study.

Conclusion: This part of the report must summarize your hypothesis and the critical points of your study.

Acknowledgment: In this section, you have to thank everything and everybody who support you with something to do your study.

Reference: In this part of your experiment, you must cite all the sources that you consulted and mention in your study.

Appendix: It contains no important information and data to understand the main points of your lab report.
